Our team was able to film most GCER 2010 presentations, and I have created a torrent for those interested. Please seed!

Video Torrent Link

Thanks,

*Evil Laugh*

It should be noted that the torrent is 26.4 gigabytes, and is 720p h.264 video. Once I get the entire thing down my tubes, I will try to produce lower bitrate 720p versions of the videos (still h.264, two pass encoded). The video Braden has posted has an extremely high bitrate.

Also: I am interested if people would release simple pdf versions of their powerpoint presentations, as the slides may not be so easy to see in the video. If someone needs hosting, I could put them on my Dropbox, just PM me.

The forum seemed to strip out my image in my previous message, so here:

I will post these on the Botball YouTube channel when my time permits.

UF blocks BitTorrent, so the only way I can download this is with encryption. If anyone wants my seed bandwidth, they need to enable encryption.

As a matter of fact, encryption is usually a good idea for any torrent, enabling it can allow you to connect to more peers than you otherwise would (a lot of people are behind restrictive ISPs, eg Comcast), and it protects your privacy.

TorrentFreak has a good article on how to enable encryption on a variety of Torrent clients.

Also, please seed. Seeding can actually increase your download speed, as BitTorrent values peers that seed over those who do not.

I'll post them as I can. The reason I'm posting the videos on vimeo is because it will let people download the videos. If anyone wants to become a channel moderator and upload their own videos, reply here.

Hopefully these videos will also be posted on the official Youtube Botball channel.

The Torrent link does not seem to work for me at this time.

I am looking for a video of James McLurkin and his Follow the Leader robots. I know the simple one on his personal web site, but I am hoping for something more dynamic, like the wonderful talks that he gives, e.g. the one he did at GCER 2010.

So: do you have McLurkin's talk? If so, what is a good way for me to obtain it.

Thanks!

DavidMutchler, the torrent was never seeded to 100%, so it seems as if that data is lost to everyone but Braden. I'll message him if I see him on IM. (To my knowledge, the only fully seeded file from the torrent was the CBCJVM presentation, which is now on Vimeo)

Hi David,

I'm pretty sure Braden's torrent did not have Dr. McLurkin's talk. The only talks which Braden had were half of the student breakout sessions.

If anyone else has videos of GCER talks, please let me know, as I'd like to get them onto the Botball YouTube Channel. I too would like a video of Dr. McLurkin's talk. :-)
