Temporary Antispam Measures Implemented

Due to the massive amount of spam, we have been forced to implement temporary antispam measures to keep the forums readable. Starting now, your first post subsequent to this point will be moderated by YAC members. After you have posted once and the message has been approved by YAC, this restriction will be lifted for you.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I know no one likes moderation... hopefully we'll have a more permanent solution soon.
This is a test post to see if non-admins can still post okay.

Bad news and good news. The bad news is that we've had to add another antispam measure, which prevents new users from posting new threads or new user articles without first having a post approved as a reply to an existing thread. The good news is that KIPR tells me that our wait for more effective antispam measures may be over soon. So hopefully everyone will be able to post unrestricted again in the near future. In the meantime, you'll need to have a reply post approved before you can post new threads. Sorry about all this; we're not happy about it either....

As an additional note, if YAC admins are taking too long to approve a non-spam post, stop by the Botballer's Chat and let us know. (We only check the forum spam queue once per day, but we're in the chatroom almost constantly.)

We plan to reenable unmoderated posting as soon as finals week is over (in a week). KIPR has given us the technical fixes we need to prevent spam without manually approving posts.
