- 1. Are we correct in assuming that the poof balls are orange and green?
-
Yes, the POOF balls will be orange and green to correspond to the orange and green boxes.
- 2. Are we correct in assuming that the green and orange squares on the arena will be immovable or at least very difficult to move?
-
They will be taped to the concrete floor with tape or UGlu and be very immobile.
- 3. If we fail to complete a challenge within the limit of 5 minutes, what score will be recorded for that round for integration into the overall score calculations?
-
5 minutes.
- 4. What is the surface of the arena which the ground-based robot will be driving on?
-
Concrete floor.
- 5. Can you give us a part number or URL for purchasing the DJ Tripod?
-
This is the exact model: http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ItemNumber=442&Category=Li... , although there are many other similar models available.
- 6. Can you tell us exactly where we can obtain the foam board for the green and orange squares?
-
In Norman we were able to get 40" x 60" sheets from Hobby Lobby, but other craft stores should stock it as well.
- 7. If we are able to discover the correct square to which we should navigate on the 3rd challenge without knocking off the poof ball, are we permitted to not knock off the poof ball and just proceed directly to the correct square?
-
The POOF ball does not need to be knocked off. I you are able to identify the ball with our moving it, it can stay where it is.
- 8. If we redo a challenge in the 4th run, is our score for that challenge the average of the two, or is it the better of the two?
-
The score is the better of the two, however we will keep the original score on file, and in the event of an exact tie, will use the original scores to break the tie.
