Here are some ideas that I think would make the forums more interesting:

Have a section that you can upload photos related to Botball and other users are able to comment on them with-in the Botball Community website. A section that would be on the top of the page along with Botball Forums, Botballer's Chat User Articles and YAC Guide (not a link to flickr or photobucket)

Be able to give reputation points to users, if they put something nice together or answer your question you asked, be able to give them reputation for their post.

Be able to view all the other users signed up and specific information about them like. Date joined, total hours spent on the forum, amount of posts, Botpoints, regional they compete in, what state their in. ect. ect

That's all I can think of for right now.

Unfortunately the tracker will only show new topics, not "replies", which in Drupal are implemented as comments.

As for voting on people, theres several modules that can do this and integrate with the Botpoints. Theres also modules available for making a public user list.

So yeah, I think theres every chance of all these being implemented in the next version of the site, coming soon (tm). Once we finish taking a snapshot of the existing site the YAC will be able to make a new version with these features integrated.

@stevenbot: Yeah, I know that. But as Matt pointed out, it doesn't show individual posts. If you use any other forum software (phpBB, MyBB, etc) you'll know what I'm talking about.

Sweet, thanks Matt and all the other YAC users for putting in the work to make this a successful site.

How about having the ability to see the users who are in the same botball groups

Is it possible to increase the amount of characters that are in a user signature. Also be able to have pictures or flash objects saved as your signature.

I noticed today when uploading a user article that the user article submission guideline link does not have anything on that page. I don't know if that is a re-direct link error, or the guideline has not been written yet.

Here is the link I am talking about:

**Anyone can write an article! Just register an account, and then upload your article. Please be sure to check out the article submission guidelines before posting, and to learn more about how your article can become part of the YAC Guide.**

User Articles were still being planned out and worked on when the kind of abrupt decision to put the site live was made, and I think we kind of forgot to flesh that sort of stuff out. I'm gonna try and at least remove any bad links later tonight (gotta wrap up summer work for school tomorrow)

I was just looking at some other sites with their robotics competition information for the upcoming year and they have a countdown on their main homepage.

I think it would be cool if we have a countdown for each regional out their and the GCER.

Here is an example:

This count down is on the top top of the page the information scrolls across the page.
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/portal.php

But there are many other types of countdowns, I can't find the one I like but it has the name of the event on the top and below it the days, hours, minutes and seconds.
