Hi Botball Community,

I am currently working on a project with two other people that uses the AR Drone and the Create. There are two parts to this post, so I will try to make them as short as possible.

Part one:
I am trying to see if it is possible to take a still image from the AR Drone. I have done some research through the internet and have found no information on how it might be done. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to take still images? I had some one suggest using OpenCV or maybe Java (just to keep in mind.)

Part two:
As soon as the image is taken, it will need to be send it to a laptop. I have the idea of using WiFi to send the image to either a CBC or KIPR LINK or directly to the laptop. I think that sending the image directly to the laptop will keep most of the clarity of the image. If you guys have any suggestions to how this can be done, I would greatly appreciate it.

I will keep this post updated to any more questions or trouble shooting problems I have. I thank you for any suggestions that people have. If you would like to work more closely with helping us on this project, contact me via email.

Hi Danielle,

You might find this code from KIPR's libkovan useful as a starting point: https://github.com/kipr/libkovan/blob/master/src/ardrone_video_p.cpp .

Hope this helps... if you have any questions about how that code works, feel free to post them here.
