BotPoints are awarded for participation on the Community site, including use of the forums and the User Articles section. In the future we will have contests where you can win BotPoints as well. BotPoints can also be awarded by YAC members for other acts of awesomeness, or revoked by YAC members for spamming.

I think it is good to have bot points, because it encourages people to ask questions! Everyone likes a good competition. Look! The scores are almost exceeding the top score for last year. It is becoming a website to definitely turn to!
Yes, that is really true, but then again, think about the people who don't spam... er. Actually, never mind. haha. Just kidding, but seriously, this is a really resourceful website, now if someone can just say something in a way I would understand?!
Glad you agree. The spammers are annoying me so so much right now. Honestly, I don't have a good opinion for whether there should be botpoints awarded, but, I kind of am leaning towards the no more botpoint policy.
I think there shouldn't be exactly NO botpoints.. but maybe a filter? I don't know, it would take a while to do that..but I think it would be wise to do that so no one will just be going "Hi" For one comment and then "yolo" for another and then "Hashtag" UGH! That annoys me because it is a waste of time, if someone wants an answer, they don't want to see spam!
Actually, it's kind of weird, but I think I just got BotPoints somehow. Does anybody know why this happened?

Bot points seem to be inspiring more spammy users this year though.
