Hi all,

Our team is using Botball vision to test some ideas about evolution. We have 8 Botballs at hand, but only 6 cameras that are compatible with the CBC v2. For experimental purposes, we want to have 8 Botballs with 8 exactly the same cameras. However, the cameras that came in the CBC v2 kits have been discontinued by the company.

So here is our question:
1. Is there any other model of cameras that are compatible with the CBC v2?
2. Does anybody have CBC v2 compatible cameras that you are willing to sell to us?

We really appreciate your help!

To answer your first question, there are no other known models of camera that work with the CBCv2. Somebody here might be willing to either donate or sell you cameras, though.

Thanks for the response!
Do you know if it is possible to install proper drivers on the CBC v2 for other webcams and make them compatible with the CBC?

KIPR tried to do exactly that when the CBCv1 was being developed. It seems that the Chumby's USB system is buggy; most webcams return bad data on it. Even the Botball webcam starts returning corrupted images on the CBC if you increase the resolution past 160x120. So the short answer is no, it is not feasible to make generic webcams work on the Chumby's buggy USB system.

That said, I'll ask around at the teams I mentor regarding whether they're willing to sell you some CBC cameras.
